As the move takes shape

Reserve temporary lodging and coordinate household goods with your transportation office.Confirm how arrival, occupancy, lease dates, and closing dates line up.Submit requested loan documents only through the lender’s secure channel.Arrange utilities and keep essential documents accessible during travel.Prepare a backup lodging plan for delays and confirm pet arrangements.

Before closing and after arrival

Read the Closing Disclosure and ask about changes from your Loan Estimate.Verify wiring instructions by calling a known, independently confirmed number.Complete the final walk-through and confirm any agreed repairs.Confirm insurance effective dates, keys, utilities, and unit check-in requirements.Ask the county appraiser about exemption applications and applicable deadlines.Save service contacts and build an evacuation plan for the new address.
