Installation housing
Family housing is privatized and managed by Harbor Bay. Ask about eligibility, wait times, lease terms, pets, utilities, and insurance before planning around an available home.
An off-base rental
Ask the Military Housing Office about community referrals and current Rental Partnership Program options. Review the lease and military clause before signing.
Buying a home
Match your expected time here with purchase costs, ongoing expenses, and an eventual sale or rental plan. Review entitlement and occupancy before submitting an offer.
Review VA considerationsBuild the timeline around your orders.
Connect before you travel.
Confirm report instructions with your unit sponsor. Use official installation information for entry requirements and current gate access.
Reserve a landing place.
Arrange temporary lodging and coordinate household goods. Build in flexibility if the home or shipment is delayed.
Test your daily route.
Check the intended gate, duty schedule, school or child-care stops, tolls, and return trip. A weekend drive does not establish a weekday commute.
Coordinate the housing decision.
Compare rental, installation, and purchase options using the same monthly-cost categories. Keep arrival and closing dates realistic.

BAH is one part of the budget.
Use the official rate lookup with the applicable year, duty location, pay grade, and dependency status. Confirm your allowance with your finance office. BAH is not intended to cover every housing expense and is not a mortgage qualification amount.

Contact the installation school liaison and family support resources for transition questions. Confirm school assignment by the exact address and school year, and ask about child-care availability early.
Health care & continuity
Arrange record transfers and confirm how care will continue after the move. Veterans can explore James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and the VA Tampa network; active-duty families should coordinate through their military health-care channels.
